Look Around.

Feel free to browse through my portfolio. The contents represents only a sample of my body of work; they are listed below from newest to oldest, dating back to 2007.

N+

N+ is a blog and gaming community for Opera & Nintendo fans. I am a moderator there and am in charge of the design. The website is hosted on My Opera, and end users only have direct access to the CSS; to change things drastically like I have support for Internet Explorer is limited. The website is directed toward Opera users so lack of support for IE wasn't a problem.

The design centers around its header image which was made to where it could be easily changed from month to month. The color scheme of the website is mostly monochromatic with white, grey, and black being dominate. However, small bits of blue and pink show through and are enhanced due to the stark contrast between the greyscale and color.

Dreams in Motion

Dreams in Motion is a car and truck club located in West Monroe, Louisiana. They customize their vehicles for display at shows in Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. They also stage annually a show of their own where all proceeds go to local charities. I was contracted to create their online presence as a way for the increasingly technical savvy show crowd to learn more about them and find out information on the next show if they plan to attend.

The background of the website is fluid -- expanding in size with the width and height of the window -- while the content of it is not. It was quite a challenge to pull that off, especially with complex backgrounds.

Redneck Santa

This is an illustration I did for Christmas cards I sent out during the Christmas season 2008. My intent with it was to give people receiving it something to laugh about and poke fun at where I live in the process. It was the first time I attempted to create my own Christmas cards and will most likely be something I will try and repeat in the future.

Blown Away

This is an illustration I did for N+, and is probably one of the nastiest things I've illustrated in recent memory. It is of Wario -- one of Mario's nemeses -- performing one of his signature moves from Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Wii. When I started this I wanted to do something very reminiscent of the nasty closeups Bill Wray illustrated for the Ren & Stimpy Show where it's obviously cartooned, yet incredibly detailed especially with details which enhance the gross feeling.

dW

dW is a weblog originally hosted at this location but has since been moved elsewhere on this server to make room for this portfolio. It is a weblog where I talk about anything which is on my mind, but its focus tends to center around web technology and standards. The weblog is also a testbed for technologies I have learned and therefore is on the cutting edge of web technology; it doesn't work in any version of Internet Explorer, even IE 8. The design is rigidly structured around a 24x24 pixel grid and is simply designed so the content is the main focus of the website.

MyOpera Themes

MyOpera is an online social networking community provided for free by Opera Software for the users of its software. It's a thriving community with over 2 million users -- providing blogs, photo albums, bookmarking, and page customization to all. I was contacted by Opera's lead designer asking me to create a few themes for MyOpera users to use for customizing their pages. I created three, each with their own unique flair while maintaining a common layout.
